Everything you wanted to know about renting a Tesla.
Most renters have the same questions. We've answered the top ones below — text us for anything we missed.
How do I rent a Tesla from CarBabies?
All bookings happen through our Turo host profile. Pick a car, pick your dates, and Turo handles ID verification, insurance and payment. Once you're booked, we'll text you to coordinate handoff.
Where can I pick up the Tesla?
Our home base is Stamford, CT. We deliver to Westport, Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, White Plains, Westchester County Airport (HPN), LaGuardia (LGA) and parts of New York City. Some deliveries are complimentary, others have a small fee — see the individual location pages.
Can I take the Tesla to the Hamptons, Martha's Vineyard or Maine?
Absolutely — these are some of our favorite trips. We've put together full road-trip guides with our favorite Supercharger stops:
→ Hamptons guide
→ Martha's Vineyard guide
→ Maine Coast guide
Do I need to know how to drive a Tesla?
Nope. Every rental includes a free 5–10 minute orientation covering autopilot, charging, the touchscreen, and how to use Superchargers. First-timers tell us this is the best part — by the time you're on the highway you'll feel like you've owned one.
How does charging work — and what does it cost?
Tesla Superchargers are everywhere on I-95, the LIE, and most NE corridor routes — typically 15–30 minute stops. Charging cost is the renter's responsibility, but it's roughly 1/3 the cost of gasoline for the same distance. We send you a personalized Supercharger map at handoff so you'll know exactly where to stop.
What's included in the rental price?
Insurance via Turo Protection (your choice of plan), 200 free miles per day, free Supercharger access, a fully charged car at handoff, and a professionally cleaned interior every time. Custom door-to-door delivery may have a small fee depending on distance.
How old do I need to be to rent?
Turo's standard minimum is 18 in most US states (21+ for some premium vehicles). Drivers under 25 may incur a young-driver fee directly through Turo. Renters need a valid US or international driver's license.
Can I rent for a week, two weeks, or longer?
Yes — we offer weekly and monthly discounts for longer rentals, perfect for visiting executives, summer-rental gaps, or extended Hamptons stays. Contact us directly for multi-week or corporate bookings.
Is the car safe? What if something happens?
Tesla Model 3 has a 5-star NHTSA safety rating and is one of the safest cars on the road. In the unlikely event of a problem, Turo provides 24/7 roadside assistance, and you've got our cell number — text us anytime.
What if I return the car with a low battery?
No penalty. We charge it overnight and it's ready for the next renter. The only requirement: the car needs to make it back. Most Superchargers along your route can put you at 80% in 20 minutes.
